Kanha Tiger Reserve is home to twenty two species of mammals, two hundred plus birds, millions of insects and reptiles. The biodiversity - flora and fauna - is amazing. Kanha tiger reserve is home to tigers, rare hard ground barasingha (swamp deer), barking deer, sambar, spotted deer, leopard, sloth bear, Indian wolf, and amazing variety of butterflies and wild life. Kanha Forest is an ecosystem that supports a complex web of life which form a food chain. The food chain exhibits interconnectivity among life forms. The tiger is at the apex of the food chain.
Kanha Wildlife Preserve is in the Central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh in the Maikal hills which are the trailing edge of Satpura ranges. The topography is beautiful and scenic with rolling hills and grassy valleys. The park opens on 1st October and closes on 30 June every year.
