It is an expedition
or excursion into dense forested jungles in India. The holiday safari is to
see the Bengal tiger and Indian wildlife which includes wild animals, reptiles,
insects – butterflies and birds. The safari or wild tiger safari is usually conducted
in Indian tiger reserves, National Parks and wildlife sanctuaries.

The wildlife safari is conducted
on jeep or van inside protected exploration forest zones. Some places offer elephant
ride as tiger show or long jungle ride on elephant back for a charge. The safari
parks have a good infrastructure of roads on which jeep safari takes place. This
way the tourist gets a view of the wide expanse of grasslands, forested hills and
valleys. These are prime habitats of tigers, wild animals and birds. The tourist
gets a surprise sightings of animals and birds which adds to the thrill and excitement
of jungle safaris in India.
For the jeep excursion in
the park the tourist has to pay a gate fees and hire a forest guide - both are complusory
on each safari. Some safari parks in India charge camera fees and filming fees.
The jungle expeditions takes place once in the morning with the rise of the
sun and once in evening till sunset. Some luxury resorts and jungle
camps offer naturalist service of trained nature guides who help extrapolate ecosystem,
forest life and help identify wild animals and birds. They make jungle trip interesting
for amateur tourists as well as professional bird watchers, wildlife lovers and
phototgraphers who visit parks for nature and wildlife photography. The lodges
in tiger preserves often organize nature treks and bird watching trips in periphery
of the safari parks. Of late night safari is being organized in buffer zones by
some resorts in India.

parks….tiger, leopard, deer, bison, rhino, wild elephants, lion, wild buffalo, sloth
bear, and small canivores like wild dog, jackal and wolf etc. One can also sight
reptiles – snakes, crocodiles and gharial. The bird life in very interesting with
